What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data filled out in the comment forms, as well as the visitor’s IP address and user agent string from the browser to help detect spam.

An anonymized string (also called a hash), created from your email addresses, may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After the comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public next to your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Website visitors can download and extract all location data from images on the site.

Contact forms

We need your personal data to be able to contact you if you request this through the contact form/forms on the site. We ask for a minimum of personal data to initiate this process, such as name, phone number, and/or email address. We will never use this information for marketing purposes without your consent.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you can opt to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (eg videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if visitors viewed another website.

Who we share your data with

Your personal data may be collected and stored in the contact form on the site and on the hosting server of the site, in access logs.

How long we retain your data

For users (if any) who register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (but cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit this information.

What rights do you have over your data

If you have an account or have left comments on this website, you can request to receive an export file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also ask us to delete any personal data we hold about you. This does not include all data that we are required to retain for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Your contact information

Your information will be kept indefinitely for contact purposes but will never be made public, shared with third parties, or used for marketing purposes. You can request a review, correction, completion, or deletion of your information from our databases at any time.
